Registering with the Forum

If you are not yet registered please read the following then click on the link at the bottom to go the Forum and register.

New Members - Setting Up Your Account

Before you can access the forum and post messages to other members you need to set up your account.

1 - After reading these notes (print out if you wish) open the forum registration page using the link at the bottom of this page: this will open a separate web page so that you can switch between these notes and the setup screen.

2 - When the forum registration page opens you will, in the top left corner, the login / register options – click either the register text or the register button on the menu bar.

3 - Decide on your user name and password.

User Name and Password:

You can use whatever user name and password you choose but they should both be a word or phrase unique to yourself which you can remember easily but which others would not be able to guess.

If you do forget your password then you can reset it quickly providing that you can remember the answer to your secret question. If you can't remeber that either then you need to remember the email address you entered during set up and a link will be sent which will enable you to rest your passwords. So, remembering is important.

After making these entries enter the scrambled letter code which is there to make sure that automatic search bots cannot access this area.

4 - Read the General Rules which apply to both ourselves (the Forum Administrators) and the Web Site Host company and then check the 'I Agree' box at the bottom.

Also read the 90th Forum rules which follow - some of these are duplications of the general rules but we feel we need to emphasise these.

Make sure your login details are recognisable as a 90th member otherwise your registartion will be refused.

Once you have read and understood – click the register button and continue to the forum.

Using The Forum

Once you have registered and logged in you will see the main startup page. On this page you will see the list of Categories which you can join in with.

Please note that visitors and general public (who are not registered 90th members) can only view the postings in ‘General Discussions’. This is intentional so please ensure that all postings in this area are of interest to visitors as well as members - we would like this section to attract new members. Also do not post things in this section which you only want members to read.

Please refresh your memory occasionally with the 90th Forum rules which are found in 'Using the Form' / 'Tips and Rules'. Some of these are duplications of the general rules but need to be emphasised.

Display Name - The other members need to know who you are when you are on the forum and also who posted the message.

You can change this by going to:

Profile settings / Account related Settings and then change the Name Box to show your new display name. Enter your password at the bottom and save the revised settings.

To make things easy for everyone, please use a name which we will all recognise. We suggest using your brat first 3 and surname but this is not essential.

Examples of format are: 474 Keith Tippey, Tippey 474, Keith 474, Keith Tippey, 'Yorkie' Tippey etc......).

This is so that you and your postings can be identified so please do not use Pseudonyms which others will not understand.

Any accounts set up by unidentified/mystery bods will be deleted without notification as it will be assumed that it belongs to an infiltrator.

90th Entry Forum Rules

Before you post anything on the forum please read this!
When you first set up your account, you will have read and agreed to the main host site rules but we would like to emphasise the following for our 90th Forum.

This forum is intended to provide an atmosphere of open communication, where each member can share his own ideas and opinions. To help achieve this goal, we ask that you:

Do not post libelous or illegal material.

Do not post harassing or discriminatory comments based on race, ethnic origin, gender, or sexual orientation.

Do not solicit or advertise. If you have questions or comments about this forum (such as technical difficulties or performance issues), please contact your forum administrator.

We reserve the right to edit any post for reasons including, but not limited to: language, length, or content not appropriate to the topic of this forum.

Older threads or messages may be removed from time to time, to maintain categories or threads at a manageable length.

Any member who breaches these Guidelines through hostile, abusive or other inappropriate behavior may have their forum membership revoked.

Privacy

Members of the general public are, intentionally, able to read the General Postings as Guests. Do not post anything in this area that you would not wish members of the general public to see - keep subject matter relevant to attracting new members.

Within the password restricted area all of your posts may be read by any member of the 90th Entry Society - there are no restrictions.

Please, therefore, make sure that these postings appropriate and reasonably understandable to the majority.

The Administrators reserve the right to remove, without notice, any message posted for whatever reason deemed reasonable in line with these rules. Please note that we have no obligation to remove content which you personally find objectionable.

Email address and other personal information

Although we require your email address for verification and notification purposes, we strongly recommend that you hide this using the ‘Account Related Settings’ in your ‘Profile Folder’.

Never post email addresses or any other personal information such, as phone numbers or your home address. Bots or third parties that have no affiliation with the administrators of this forum could possibly search the posts on this site without our knowledge – whilst this is a secure site we should not be complacent and overlook the ingenuity of the hacks.
