Day Two - Tuesday August 2nd

Leisure Option

Why not take an hour or to to simply enjoy seeing something of the local area - a parkland with lakes surrounds the hotel and a large shopping precinct is within walking distance.

Then of course there is a fully equipped leisure centre at the Holiday Inn which is available to all our members - why not book a beauty or hair treatment or personal training session in Revive health club, or relax in the pool and spa bath.

This will be followed by minibus transfer for a 2 hour visit at the Coalport China Museum and the Tar Tunnel which is just a short stroll up the road from the Coalport museum.

If this pre-planned route is not quite to your liking there is something to suit everyone's taste from a choice of 10 different museums and special interest sites (full details will be available at our reception meeting or you can update yourself by visiting their web site.

We will be returning to the Hotel late afternoon. The minibus will drop off and pickup at the pre-arranged pickup points and times for return journey.

Further information will be available at the welcome meeting.

13.30 - 1400 - The minibus will shuttle you between the Victorian Village and Coalport Museum as the short journey down the road is not considered suitable for safe walking.

16.00 – 18.30 - Arrive back at the Hotel in time for a quick kip to summons up some energy for the evening revelry and then kit ourselves out in evening attire.

Dress - we aim to keep this a fairly informal event so pretty frocks for the girls and smart casuals for the guys. It is doubtful that the Italian suits, shoelace ties and winkle-pickers will fir these days but everyone, especially the ladies, are encouraged to dress suitably for a 60's swing night.

Bring some comfortable shoes - we will be having some warm-up dancing classes to learn a few new easy steps which will help our stiff and tender joints enjoy some gentle exercise to the music which will be following after dinner.

Make sure you save enough energy
for 6 hours of revelry at our:

19.30 – Banquet style Dinner followed by Coffee and mints.

21.30 – '58-61' Cabaret & Disco with Ian Harley of 'GI Give'. Music from our Halton Days era intermingled with some dancing demos a spot of 'Courts School of Dancing' where you will have the opportunity to try out some new easy steps to keep you swinging the night away.

22.00 till late – dance the night away to the 'SWING COMMANDERS' - a very talented and multi-functional dance and party band comprising three lively lasses and three lively lads who jointly play over 12 instruments.

Swing along to 40's to 70's music and make your own special requests for your preferred songs and dance arrangements. Alternatively why not just sit back and enjoy the craic in the very best of company. These gals know how to entertain and are lively enough to keep anyone going the whole night.
