Committee Job Descriptions

Chairman
a) General arbiter when stalemate between Committee members.
b) General overall help and provide assistance in light of problems.
c) Deputy Treasurer.
d) Provide advice to Committee when requested.
e) Make final decisions as required.
f) Raise ideas for future events.
g) Carry the can when things go wrong.
h) Contribute to member's Obituary, if required.
i) Shared owner of 90th society documents.

Treasurer
a) Manage money accounts.
b) Pay bills as required committee.
c) Show movements of money as reasonably requested.
d) Show balance and income.

Membership and Events Secretary
a) Keep Membership file updated.
b) Any deaths notified pass on to Bereavement Secretary/Webmaster.
c) Plan future Reunions.
d) Distribute Despatches, Notifications and Obituaries.
e) Send out messages to the members asking for ideas for future Events.
f) Liaise with Hotel Managers for suitability of Rooms Catering etc.
g) Arrange Quizzes, Auctions money raising events.
h) Prime holder of 90th Society documents.

Bereavement Secretary
On receipt of a notification of a 90th colleague passing away, the bereavement officer shall carry out the following:
a) Ascertain the family contact from the person passing on the notification.
b) Find out if the deceased is entitled to a wreath or a donation.
c) Contact the family to see if a wreath or donation is required. Offer to liaise with the family over publication of funeral details once known.
d) Obtain deceased service number and inform RAFHAA secretary for publication in Halton Magazine.
e) Inform the Webmaster to update web site.
f) Liaise with British Legion if a wreath is required and arrange delivery to funeral directors.
g) Inform treasurer of where and to whom a charity donation is to be made.
h) Inform all committee members of the passing.
i) Publish details on the Entry Social media page.

Newsletter (Despatches) Editor
a) Receive, format, edit and print submissions from members for inclusion into Despatches.
b) Forward completed Despatches to the Events Secretary for circulation to all members.
c) Shared holder of 90th Society documents.

Webmaster
Maintain the 90th Entry website, including:
a) Roll of Honour.
b) Find-a-brat and list of Members.
c) Reflect latest Despatch and achieves of Despatch.
d) Inform the Treasurer of any notifications associated with the cost of Hosting the website.
e) Pass on any requests from new contacts through our website to the appropriate Committee member.
f) Shared holder of 90th Society documents.
